Refund & Cancellation Policy
How this policy works
This policy is issued by Sagar Aggarwal, trading as ScaleMax Cloud, and applies to KVM VPS plans, with any image we offer (Ubuntu, AI agent box or n8n), and paid add-ons such as Managed Support, paid through Cashfree (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets) or UPI QR. Read it with the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy. Hosting is a prepaid digital service: compute, disk, and a hostname on a KVM host start when payment clears. Refunds are limited to the cases below.
Seven-day money-back on a first order
If you are a new customer, your first paid order is covered by a seven (7) day money-back window starting when we mark that order paid. "First order" means the first successful charge we record against your account, whether a listed KVM plan or a custom VPS, with any image. The guarantee is once per customer. Opening extra accounts or paying from another wallet to claim a second window is abuse and we may refuse.
To use it, cancel in the dashboard or write to support within those seven days and ask for a refund of that first order. We will stop the instance and refund the plan fee we collected, subject to the gateway rules below. Add-ons on that first invoice are included; later add-on-only invoices are not a new first order.
Cancellation of ongoing service
You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from the billing area of the dashboard, or by asking support. Cancellation stops the next renewal charge, monthly or annual. It does not end the period you have already paid. The instance keeps running until that period ends, unless you ask us to destroy it sooner. We do not refund unused days of a partial billing period, including when you switch from annual to monthly. If you destroy the VM mid-term, remaining days are not credited and not paid back.
After the paid period ends following a cancellation, we retain disk data for seven (7) days as described in the Terms of Service, then delete it. Failed renewals are not cancellations; they follow the three-day grace and suspension rules in the Terms.
No refund after AUP suspension
If we suspend or terminate an instance for an Acceptable Use Policy violation — including spam, DDoS or scanning, mining, illegal content, CSAM, malware or phishing, or unauthorised resale — prepaid fees for the current period are not refundable, including during a first-order window we would otherwise honour. Chargebacks filed to evade an AUP termination may lead to account closure.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method: for a Cashfree payment, to the UPI account, card, bank account or wallet used; for a UPI QR payment, to the UPI ID that paid. We do not send a refund to a different method, except where the processor itself has no other path and we agree in writing. Refunds are initiated within seven to ten (7–10) business days after we approve the request. Your bank, UPI app, or card network may take longer to show the credit.
